The future of e-mail
Quoting a comment made on the InfiniteLoop Apple mailing list:
Email is a specific communications tool. HTML formatting for email is a way to prettify your email which fails in two extremely specific regards: Not every email client will support this formatting, so that there's a good possibility your recipient will not be able to see your underscores but rather just plain text; and it adds substantial extra download time to every email you send that way, for which not everyone will be able to read it. Because email clients are extremely personal in a way a browser is not. Telling people to upgrade because their email client doesn't support a feature which adds massive bloat to emails using it and which not incidentally is a common way to send out spam is ludicrous. If you told me to upgrade my email client because it didn't support HTML mail, I would laugh in your face. Saying that HTML email is a standard for the future strikes me as funny because I don't know that it is. It's just a concession to 1998 and 12-year-old girls who want to use Comic Sans in their email.

I got to agree on that. I like the 'Comic sans' reference ;)) I hate this font !!
