A life story.

This is a diary so I'm supposed to talk about what's happening in my life right ? well, this weekend I worked with Toog on his album, and after that I went shopping. We watched some DVDs, and today I baked a chocolate cake with nuts. And we went shopping again, recording again, and we ended up watching DVDs again. Very simple.
The Wesley Willis track is now ready (and up somewhere on the internet) so I started preparing work on a new remix for David in Tokyo. What else ? oh I'm doing an update for this website but I'm too lazy to finish it, I hope to change things in the coming weeks. Surprise, surprise. I'm listening to Outkast new LP, a very good pop album. Thanks to Patrick I now have the Scha Dara Parr remix album from 1997, nice ! I keep listening to the usuals: Hypo, Toru Takemitsu, David Bowie, Belle and Sebastian, MC Cat Genius, Relaxed Muscle (Jarvis is back !) etc... I don't have many records from my friends. No complete Momus collection, I don't have any Tog recording, only one or two Midori songs... strange. I've lost so many things in this (car) crash.
I still don't have a new computer. I'm playing video games instead of recording new sounds. I wish I could play more games in fact. My dream would be to return to the true artform: Lego bricks. The air is fresh, winter is coming. I'm trying to avoid my first heart attack: I'm only 23...

I want to buy a (used) Powerbook G4 15' (any ideas ?). I don't need a 17' laptop, and I don't need too much technology, I just need a cool looking computer that works everywhere, and not too small (the 12' are a bit tiny) with a good screen. So no 1 Ghz models for me, I don't need all that power ! 500-667 Mhz are what I need :) It's good to stay retro.

Fashion !

Wa-oo, it's been a while.
Not so many news from Paris, I started my new job last week (marketing-blahblah-strategy thing), did some work on my Welsey Willis track (98% completed!). I'm still having problems with my mail server, but I think I've lost no mails so far. I miss my iBook !! can't wait for my next Apple computer :) I've lost 60 Go of data last week, including many many Digiki tracks recorded from late 2002, in fact I've lost almost all works from November 2002 to May 2003...
The Toog album sounds far too acoustic now, as many sounds are lost, but we'll re-record some elements soon... everything is of course delayed, and we want to record more songs anyway...
Speaking of recording with Toog we did the soundtrack for the spring/summer 2004 Pelagique fashion show last sunday. We finished the tracks 10 minutes before the show, that was fun :) We'll try to post some mp3 soon (I say "we" as Gilles is planning to do a real website soon !).
No Digiki projects in the near future... too tired (and too sad to have lost so many things ! c'est la vie...) at least now I have 60 Go of free space to stock new mp3s ;)

The Kitchen remix project is extented until mid 2004, feel free to participate !

I did it my way.

Last news from Paris:

- no more iBook: sold.
- massive firewire crash: 60 Go gone, including many sound works.
- mail server slowdowns since last week: I keep receiving old mails.

I need a fax machine.

Polaris and Masakatsu Takagi

Polaris - Lemon (rehome by Masakatsu Takagi)
now, how perfect is that ? one of my favourite japanese band remixed by one of my favourite sound artist ?
Masakatsu Takagi IS a genius. No need to discuss here. Check out his new CD Sail (featuring a Cornelius remix) to hear what I mean.
edit: I prefer his Rehome CD to tell the truth ;)

Back to Polaris their new single, Lemon which includes this remix is a very good buy since it's 28 minutes long, for 3 tracks !! Their previous single included a cool, almost 18 minutes long, Mooog Yamamoto (of Buffalo Daughter) CDJ mix.
