OK let's skip this:
It's really a matter of weather I think.
Speaking of weather I bought this weekend the wonderful, beautiful new album by Anne Laplantine with this, hum, vocalist, you know, my man Momusu !
Summerisle (or Summerible as it appears on my ticket) is the perfect soundtrack right now in Paris, the kind of record that makes you want to buy an iPod mini to carry it around with you everywhere you go. Yes, it's that good :)
And the fact that Hypo, who works at Gibert Musique almost sold it to me adds to the experience :)

Momus & Digiki: the drugs don't work!
I did a search on "Digiki" in SoulSeek and the only results I get were for my remix of Momus. Funny, but in the same time, scary. How to survive that ? I like this remix of course (and from what I've heard I'm not the only one), but what's next ?
I thought it would be interesting to work with Momus again, on a remix of Kitchen or on something for my next record. Unfortunately, this won't happen, which obviously doesn't change a single thing about what I think about the man. I'm not cool enough for the old guy apparently :) Sorry, I'm not on Active Suspension, Nick !
OK enough. I won't write about the man anymore, check his (very) clever blog, you know the address !
Speaking of things that won't happen, at least some people do answer my mails.
From Smith & Hack / Errorsmith:
Hello Antonin,
Thank you for your email.
Unfortunatly we cannot make a remix, because we we cannot relate much to the
tracks on the website.
Sorry!
A fast, simple, direct answer :) I love it ! I absolutely love S&H and I can relate much to their tracks :)
Speaking of tracks...
I'm officially the worst DJ on earth, but I don't care.
Which leads us to...

From the Financial Times:
Gucci on Wednesday morning moved to put an end to several months of management turmoil by naming the head of Unilever's ice cream and frozen foods division as the successor to departing chief executive Domenico de Sole.
"Selling ice creams and frozen peas is a whole lot different to owning stores and making crocodile leather shoes that sell at $3000," said one veteran of the De Sole management team, who warned of the dangers of abandoning Gucci's entrepreneurial and non-bureaucratic culture.
LOL !!

Good day: Momus (him again !) posted the original, non-'re-produced' tracks from his last album Oskar Tennis Champion...

Somewhere in Paris, DJs at work...
ahhhhh it's so good to be back. Spent most of the week (between my classes at Science Po) working on the follow-up to "I don't like mixing" and I guess it's going to be great. Even more styles / clashes / unexpected sounds etc - not your usual DJ mix...it's "anti mixed" or "de-mixed", I don't care if you dance, baby.
Which leads me to...
...we could play that
..playlist at Castellane, April 2004 (at last!)
(in no order, just pick'em up !)
-Sex In Dallas - Everybody deserves to be fucked (on Kitty Yo) new french band / 80s sound...

-Fennesz - Venice a good follow up to his masterpiece Endless summer... with David Sylvian singing on one track...
-Hypo - Random Veneziano (ah Venice again !) amazing pop album, wondeful work on the sounds and structures, this is so good it should be #1... can't wait to hear what he could do with Kitchen (come on Anthony !)...

Forget about it, I'm back in front of the PlayStation2 and GTA, while listening to Justin Timberlake.

I'm a big fan of Lars Von Trier's cinema, so I went to see his new movie (no it's not Dogville) Five obstructions last monday. It's an interesting piece of work, based on the idea of shooting different versions of one of Von Trier's favourite movies, The perfect human, a short film by danish film maker Jorgen Leth, each time with a different obstruction or limitation, contrainte that Von Trier imposes to Leth. The results are very different, but interesting (the animation obstruction is surprising for example, as both Von Trier and Leth hate animation). It's a film about contextes, and variations on contextes, and that's why I really enjoyed it (and it's quite clever and funny too). I knew Jorgen Leth work before, as I saw one of his film, Det gode og det onde (the good and the bad) 3 years ago at the La Rochelle international film festival, selected in a panorama of european cinema by...Lars Von Trier.
If you have never seen any of Von Trier films you should check Europa or Breaking the waves, or check his amazing TV series, The Kingdom. His movie with Bjork was OK, but it's not one of my favourite. His recent Dogville is absolut genius, go buy the DVD now !
