Invisible trains

I was about to write something about how playability is one of the most important thing in the world (too much Made in Wario perhaps ?) but I ended up thinking about digital interfaces. Well, whatever.

A fun example of multiplayer handheld AR (augmented reality) here (link via Gizmodo).

I've been interested in AR (vs. VR, virtual reality) for quite some time, as I believe it's one of the key technology for tomorrow's digital interfaces.

I think Mamoru Oshii's Innocence and the Ghost in the Shell series as a whole are good examples of digitally enhanced vision, where augmented reality digital assistants play a key part in everyday life.

If you think this is science fiction, the current use of QR barcodes in Japan doesn't seem too far from an augmented reality.

Toog superstar

Toog in Paris, june 2004.

With elements of musique concrete, field recording, modern composition, hip hop, electronica and post-folk thrown in to guide production, “Lou Etendue” lends itself brilliantly to that kind of home listening that is often described as imaginary soundtracking.

While Toog is slowly preparing his next record (as decribed here), a good review of Lou Etendue is up at Boomkat.

Wataridori 2

Me likes the new Cornelius track on the Wired Creative Commons CD compilation. And with tracks by Gliberto Gil, Danger Mousse, The Rapture vs. Blackstrobe, David Byrne, Le Tigre, Dan the Automator or Matmos...I guess it's a good compilation :)

More clean up

Upcoming:
Mahjongg - Jamdek (the Digiki remix) 5:11

why is this thing so long ? I hope it's not too boring...
I gave up all hopes of respecting the classic verse-chorus-verse structure...

I'm trying to clean up my list of projects... more to come.

DIY

Out of nowhere...

I completed two Kitchen (redux-remix edition) tracks.

Kitchen remixed ! Animals don't care / Dot One mixes

1. Chickenfolk
2. Kitchenfunk

I'm not sure if this will be on the remix album, as I'm not supposed to remix myself... guess it will remain in the 'unreleased' folder for the time being.

Back to work on the Darsh album.

Last night dream

I was with Teki Latex and we were talking about the new TTC album Batards Sensibles. We were in a strange appartement, and he didn't play the album, but instead gave me a TTC mixtape (or was it a Paraone mixtape ?). It was a fun moment till I woke up this morning.

Can't wait for the album Teki !

Working, sleeping, playing, talking:
with Darsh, September 2004.

Mr Darsh - album #2 (work in progress)
Digiki - album #2 (work in progress)

I've never thought that recording a follow-up album would be so difficult.
And recording two follow-up albums at the same time....well,... got work to do !

Sick and blurry

On my plane back to Paris I saw a girl looking exactly like Kahimi Karie... I'm almost sure it was her. She didn't notice me while we were waiting for our luggages at Charles de Gaulle airport.
