Darsh: Cash update

Just a quick post to give you an update on the web release of 'Cash'.
Due to some reasons we won't discuss here, we have to postpone the release for a week, the single will hit the web on March 8th instead of March 1st.
Here's what to expect:

01. Cash
02. Cash (Eric Ker cash cash remix)
03. L.A. beat

Thank you for your support -it's only the beginning !

Darsh: Cash

Darsh is back !

DARSH - CASH
The new single.
March 1st 2005

NO JOKE !
We are Castellane Five.

We are very happy to announce the (web) release of Darsh's first new track since 2000.
A good way to start the year 2005 (in march !), "CASH" is the first single from Darsh's second album 'CONCRETE' set to follow later this year.

Produced by Digiki, the track is a complete departure from Darsh's first album 'Poochie' and is described as 'fake futurism' and 'avant gangsta' (whatever that means).

CASH IN / CACHE OUT !

Before the single release in march we are offering right now (yeah, NOW!) all the sounds used in the track to all potential remixers out there. Play with it, do whatever you want and send us the result !!

Darsh - Cash (SAMPLESPACK) *.zip
Darsh - Cash (VOCALPACK1) *.zip
Darsh - Cash (VOCALPACK2) *.zip

Have fun !!

Reasonable behaviour

From Laurent Garnier website (check out his new album The cloud making machine btw, very interesting work and VERY different from all his previous releases):

In order to obtain this new visa, the rules have once again changed since November 2004 and I would now have to not only fill in an exceedingly probing application form, but also be interviewed by a member of the Embassy staff, and provide proof of ownership of my house, details of my bank account, my mobile phone records, personal information on all my family members and more. I consider these demands to be a complete violation of my privacy and my civil liberties and I refuse to comply.

I am horrified by these new regulations and feel really sad that this is what some call freedom and democracy.

It has now become almost impossible for an artist to come and perform in the United States. And until this new legislation changes I will unfortunately refuse to comply with this nonsense.

Thank you for your understanding.

Laurent Garnier

The right shoes for the right platform

Interesting readings on The Feature blog today (TheFeature.com is published by Nokia)

Japan and the (social) implications of prepaid mobile phones

Home networking: Animals people don't care

Rather than focusing on selling home networking equipment or (the oh-so-catchy "customer premise equipment"), networking equipment providers need to be working to convince others to build out the applications, devices and services that make use of the network. In other words, instead of thinking of the network as the end product, vendors have to realize it's a platform, and no platform catches on without applications to make it valuable (damn right).

Please note that the study mentioned is only about the US market. I'm also quite amused by the recurring claim that television "will play a central role in the next wave of home networking". Hum. Do we need a big screen ? yes. Do we need a TV screen ? not so sure. I haven't watched TV for what seems like months. Ah if only Arte was broadcasted in HD online ! It's the only TV station I'll surely miss when in Japan.

Speaking of Japan, an interview with Kei-ichi Enoki of NTT Docomo.

I'll leave you for the time being with some shoes. Shoes, platforms, it's all a matter of walking ! Bring the colors back !
