Girls all over the globe
[Jay] I come scoop you in that Coupe, sittin on deuce-zeroes

Shinji Sato shuffle play

Shinji Sato in Beikoku Ongaku

Currently listening to laB LIfe and Fishmans... brings back so many things... cruisin' at night in Osaka in 1999, BBQ on the beach, meeting people, and then 2000... Maximum Joy with Trattoria staff, Kyoto with Shoichi and Tanaka, in the studio with Eiji, cool as always, introducing me to loop / sampling....giving me a copy of Acid, that's where I started ! And that night in Tokyo with Tomonori from Plus Tech before his first album release, teaching me how to play Clover at 3 in the morning...

I never thought iTunes shuffle mode would bring back so much....maybe it's because of my current mixed feelings (25, eye situation)...I don't know. What I know is that everybody should have a copy of Fishmans Uchu Nippon Setagaya album. And their last live album too. Key influence.

"You dont like mixing anyway ..."

May 19th.
I wanted to complete my third album production before I turn 25, and I almost did. Darsh Concrete is in its finishing stage. 12 tracks, most recorded, edit, mixed. Even our summer pop song is done, it needs some polishing and additional mixing but it exists. It feel so great to have completed something we began with Romain in 2001. It's been a long, long, process, full of changes, new influences, surprising guests, more evening spent drinking and watching MTV and analysing popular music, and a lot of FUN. It's a fun album, it's a serious joke. OK, we have to go back to work on the last elements, but here's what to expect sometime this summer.

Darsh - Concrete

01 Mariodarsh
02 J'cruise taille basse
03 Istanbul
04 On est là feat. Koh'Nas
05 Claque un ollie feat. Mc Cat Genius
06 Cherry gather girl
07 Since I don't have you
08 Non, feat. Mai Ueda and Glitch Diddy
09 Cash
10 Concrete
11 Placo feat. Toog
12 Je crois qu'on avance

All track produced by Digiki except 'On est là' produced by Eric Ker.
'Je crois qu'on avance' CD!G!K!SS mix by D!G!K!

Cover art by Miltos Manetas

We have a few more singles coming out before the album (including 'Ollie', we know we're late !).

I think we'll do a track by track comment later, but let's say for the moment that Concrete is a fake hip hop album by two white guys from central Paris watching too much MTV and without any rap talent. We don't know how to produce hip hop tracks so the result is not that hip hop... it's an album about retrogaming, Famicom, skateboarding on PlayStation, going to club with good music, listening to TTC, mp3 sharing, Grand Theft Auto, cuteness, girls, friends, and fun. Concrete is all about fun. We hope you'll like it.

Darsh est dans le skatepark

Flip
Air
Spin
Underflip

Feel the pain, Romain !

Darsh feat. Mc Cat Genius - Claque un ollie

Coming May 19th.

The new single off soon to be award-winning avant gangsta always postponed album, 'Concrete'. Produced by Digiki.

The third single off 'Concrete' is a tribute to skateboarding. Which is 'not a crime' according to some T-shirts. Well, whatever.
Ollie is a hot clash of Darsh unique non-rapping with Cat Genius crazy flow, the whole thing on top of a Digiki beat. HOT?

The single also includes a new non-album track and the instrumental version of Ollie. We can't wait to hear your Darsh-Jay Z bootlegs !

Let's grind

You know the story, we want YOU to remix this track. There's enough elements to turn the thing into a super hot from hell track. You know I'm bad at mixing, so help yourself: do better ! And have FUN (that's the most important thing)

Enjoy !

Oh, and by the way...

I'm applying for a two-year scholarship from the Japanese governmentto to do research in Japan in 2006-2007 on the ongoing evolutions of digital media distribution on the mobile market, more specifically music usages on mobile phones. If you happen to know any media/sociology university in Tokyo interested by that (so far no returns from Keio Mediacom...), you know where I am. I got 30 days to find a teacher. Yeah, I can dream...

I was there (?)

McDonald's slaves, TTC live, taxi riders, summer colors:
bring me back my eye !

It's hot in Paris again, which could be perfect if this freakin' laptop wasn't hot already (why does it need to be so hot ? someone tell me). I've been doing things lately, meeting people, going out (thanks for the great live Teki &the crew). I was in London too, good memories. I decided not to blog about my eye again, even if I spent the week home after a two day scary blackout of my left eye, and even if I'm typing this post without my glasses with my nose on the keys. It's summer ! think positive !

We have a new Darsh single coming soon, the thing is we can't tell what it's called and what it is, which is so strange, I know, or maybe it's because we can't decide what to release next ? we have many potential singles. It's a 'hit only' record, made for commercial FM ! Na, but there're still tons of things to prepare, artworks, tracklists etc The album is 75% complete (or maybe more ?) and should be ready for the summer.
The next single is online May 19th 2005 !

Lovelist for now:

-reading (with one eye) Naoki Urasawa Monster and enjoying it.
-listening to Section Amour live recording in Amsterdam.
-sleeping a lot, good Tokyo dreams

See you in one week !
