Home alone (kinda), not stoppin' me from doing a quick Saint Jacques (scallops?) salad... I need to get my food blog going, but I want to make change to the blog structure... move to movable type or whatever, have categories for posts, but I'm not the tech guy so any help would be much appreciated (Patrick ? anyone ?)

As you can see I'm reading the latest OK FRED issue, great magazine as usual... interesting feature on fashion, I like Bernhard Willhelm, especially when he says that there are less and less editors who take risks, by putting designers in their magazines without advertisement funny to read when you browse back to the opening two pages of OK FRED which are a B.Willhelm ad.

I got a strange relationship with this magazine, many people I know or like are participating in it, but I'm not really connected with the editors, even if I would love to do something with/for them. I can't write as well as Jean Snow or David Marx, both contributors, but still...

Would you buy those records, based on sleeve design ?

Small music in Koenji is one of the best rental shop in Tokyo. When I say one of the best, I actually don't know any other rental shop with a selection like that. Jazz, experimental, avant garde, laptop, brazilian sounds, hip hop, Active suspension, etc you name it, they have it. Not your usual Tsutaya.

I'm very proud and happy that they now stock my debut album Kitchen !
I gave a copy to the owner a few weeks ago and apparently he liked it. It's even in the recommended section !

So, what are you listening to ?
I am playing a lot of very different records in Numabukuro (big up my hood), despite the general view that I'm the hip hop guy right now, just to make things clear I'm playing everything from jazz to classical to crunk to pop to experimental stuff, you have no idea, and NO my new album is not a hip hop album. SO, the namedroppin' post, best stuff I've heard recently: songs from the next Momus album played in Osaka, very surprising, kind of 90s pre french touch house (really), songs from the upcoming Nelly Furtado album produced by Timbaland and co, Promiscuous girl is the best pop single this year so far. Mixtapes: we got it for cheap 2 is still on heavy rotation, but the new Clinton Sparks tape (or album, whatever) Touch the sky with crazy stuff from Kanye, Busta etc made a strong impression on me. Pop by Pierre Bastien is still a favorite as the Bonny Prince Billy x Tortoise thing, especially the Bruce Springsteen cover. Pharrell's album is MIA, no date, no release, too bad. Daft Punk remixed by Para One is perfect, one of the greatest mix recently. Also check the FuckALoop remix of Ellen Allien, beautiful. Speaking of remixes DFA are doing good these days, their mix of Tiga (good album by the way, it made me download a lot of Pet Shop Boys) is cool, but the real winner is their remix of Hot Chip (now signed to DFA). Other heavy rotation tracks are Justice remixes, seems like he's doing one mix a week these days, Paris is back in the building. TTC never left, and their latest track, strip pour moi is a refreshing minimal track, very pop, very cool. We want more. John Lennon is also on heavy rotation, as with some new Flaming Lips tracks, I'm looking forward to the album. And I have to confess: yes, I like the new Franz Ferdinand single, the Max Tundra mix is a lot of fun. Don't forget the Oizo album, noisy to the max, La Caution double album from last year (best album of 2005) and some Boredoms as usual and I think it gives you an idea of what could be the next Polypunk podcast, if I ever decide to do one, that it. As for my music, I don't really listen to it, my album is Beat vacation, it's done, I got to send it to labels. I'm doing a new track for a compilation in France, I want to remix people, it's been a very long time since my last remix. Anyone ?
I want to produce tracks for other people. But not tonight, I'm watching The Simpson !
