Celebration part 3 (At world’s end)

What a great weekend. Perfect weather, friends, good food, a few surprises and a lot of fun. Where should I begin ?

On Friday we went to see the latest Pirates (of the Disneyland) movie. I like quality movies, but I do enjoy good old entertainment too. And it is exactly what this is about: a story you can’t really understand (I kinda lost track halfway and it didn’t matter at all !), action, pirates, love, humor, adventure, and Keith Richards (!) in two hours forty seven minutes. And no, it’s not boring at all. Reminds me of the Indiana Jones and all those blockbusters from the 80’s. Good fun.

Then on Saturday, the pirates stroke back, via mail, with a bearate taking control of the kitchen. Scary isn’ t it ?

After almost two years moving around Tokyo on a (kinda ridiculous) mini BMX, I am now looking for my next bicycle. I turned to Alex (of KazuNoco) for advice and we went in Shinjuku to an amazing cycle shop with a pretty nice selection. I am not too sure if I want to join the fixie phenomenon, it all depends on the price (I don’t change gears in Tokyo anyway, good way to stay fit). From what I understand, whatever I end up buying I’ll have to change parts at some point… looks like the next three years will be busy.

On our promo tour (for our next party this Saturday, more on that later) we ended up at reed space in Aoyama. Friendly staff, clever selection, and they are supporting the event on Saturday (Velours is next door). Thank you reed space ! Hope to catch Jeff next time he’s in Tokyo.

Sunday was again a beautiful day. And what a great day to have lunch somewhere (far) away from Tokyo ? Not too far actually, somewhere down in Toritsu Kasei. The idea was to Celebrate my birthday, one last time, but above all to spend a good moment with friends and great italian food. And the place didn’t disappoint: imagine an old house, a terrace, a table set up outside, you and your friends, blue sky above, no other guests. Feels like home ? it sure did ! We spent three hours eating, talking and enjoying the sunday slow life. Perfect sunday. Thanks to all of you for making this happen.

You must be tired by now of reading about how great Juliana is, again and again. And yes, this time again the party went great ! Dex Pistols in the audience, Yulia and Galbitch on the decks (great set !), a lot of people (thank you !) and a very special late guest excusing herself of missing the party… don’t worry Maya, next time !
