Frictions
I’m back with a new face - new teeth - new glasses - digiki reconstruction, kind of. A very special thank you to the people who made this possible - Haruna, Alex, Ai, Momoko, a digiki style is always a collaborative effort!
and back on my good old new bike - fixed gear is the zen of bicycle riding, it’s all in your mind legs.
Though I had been warned in Miami
and by this mail from Alin after the december accident:
(i was thinking i should have made more of a point to you that only one brake and freewheel while it should basically do the job, is fundamentaly not safe - except for crazy romanians who grew up with no brakes at all)
European, yes, Romanian, not enough.

for your info (via http://bikesnobnyc.blogspot.com )
Stopping a fixed gear with platform pedals (known as Jamaican Style) works like this:
Wait until your ’strong leg’ pedal cycles to the front of its rotation.
Catch the underside of the pedal with the top of your foot and apply upward pressure.
Apply downward pressure with your trailing foot on the backside pedal.
Skid to a stop.
